ABOUT US

Our Goals

The New York/New Jersey Foreign Freight Forwarders & Brokers Association, Inc. is one of the oldest transportation related organizations in the United States today. Founded in 1917, the association provides information on issues and developments important to its members; serves as a voice for the Freight Forwarding, Customs Brokerage and OTI communities in policy and regulation decision-making; and protects and advocates the best interests of the group as a whole.

Our goals are achieved by monitoring pertinent commercial and governmental activities and facilitating discussions of their impact on the international trade community. In addition, the association holds seminars, formulates policy views, conducts public relations and public affairs activities, and provides legal platforms to ensure united action on behalf of the members.

The membership is made up of Ocean Transportation Intermediaries (Foreign Freight Forwarders and NVOCC’s) licensed by the Federal Maritime Commission and Customs Brokers licensed by the Customs and Border Protection/Department of Homeland Security. Member firms have a place of business within the New York/New Jersey bi-state area. Affiliated memberships are also available to certain out-of-area firms and to industry-related companies.
