Claudio Bozzo, President & CEO, Mediterranean Shipping Company (USA) Inc.-
Claudio Bozzo joined Mediterranean Shipping Company in New York in 1994. Initially employed as a clerk in the intermodal department, he worked his way up the ranks gaining additional experience managing most of the major departments within the Company. He became President in 2005.
Today MSC (USA) employs over 1300 people in the United States. It is the second largest steamship line in the world and the largest in the USA specializing in the transportation of containerized cargo. MSC is also one of the fastest growing cruise companies in the world.
Born in Genoa, Italy in 1967, Mr. Bozzo began his career in Sales and Marketing at Columbus Travel, developing the Turkish and Caribbean Markets. Over the past four years, Claudio Bozzo has pursued many outside activities. He first became President of the Italian American Chamber of Commerce in 2009 and since 2010 sits both as the President of all the Italian Chambers in the NAFTA Area as well as the Vice President of the European American Chamber of Commerce. In 2011, he was inducted into the United Nations International Maritime Hall of Fame becoming one of the youngest Presidents to receive this honor. Other honors include 2011 Winner of the “Award in International Business” by the National Italian American Foundation; 2012 Winner of the “Excellence in Business” award by the Order of the Sons of Italy and in 2012 he was appointed Commendatore by the President of the Italian Republic.
